Induction for Foundation Stage September 2020

Welcome to all September 2020 new starters!

25th August 2020

Here is some information regarding starting school next week and ordering school lunches.

19th August 2020

We hope you are all well and enjoying the holidays. It’s a delightful day today 😂 We only have a few weeks left, so thought we would send a reminder about our induction process.

Week 1 (week beginning Wednesday 2nd September 2020)
Your child will be in on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday with a small group of children. Please see your Golden Ticket for your day and staggered start time. Don’t forget to bring back your 🎫 and your little bag of exciting things to share 💼 We finish at 11.45am.

Week 2 (week beginning Monday 7th September 2020)
We start at 9.15am and finish at 1.15pm which includes lunch at school. You can book a school packed lunch two weeks in advance under the Payments tab on ParentMail or bring your own.
Group A are Monday/ Tuesday and Group B are Wednesday and Thursday. Both groups are in together on Friday, will stay for lunch and we will finish at 1.45pm. Your letter from the induction visit tells you which group your child is in.

Week 3 (week beginning Monday 14th September 2020)
The Group A/B days and times will stay the same as week 2 to avoid any confusion!

Week 4 (week beginning Monday 21st September 2020)
We know that the majority of the children have been at home for the last 6 months, so we are anticipating this year starting school full time will be more tiring and challenging. With their well-being as our priority, we will review this during the first two weeks and continue running with mornings if needed. However, your children may settle really well and we can begin full time. We will see how the part time weeks go and make a decision during this time because we won’t know until we are all actually at school!

Thank you!

Miss Telling

21st July 2020

We are getting ready for our last day of term tomorrow and then preparing our classrooms ready to welcome you on Thursday and Friday. I hope you are all looking forward to it because we can't wait to meet you!

In the meantime, here is a PowerPoint with lots of information about starting school. I normally share this at the Welcome Evening in June. You had a lucky escape this year and didn't have to listen to me talking through it really really fast!! You can read this at your leisure instead! Hopefully it will answer lots of your questions. Feel free to bring any other questions, queries or worries. We are here to help and will have time within our 30 minutes sessions to have a chat with you all individually.

Thank you and see you very soon!
Miss Telling

26th June 2020

Good Afternoon

We hope you are enjoying this glorious weather.

As we move into the final four weeks of the summer term, we would like to update you on our induction arrangements for September.

We are unable to carry out home visits and our usual classrooms visits (lunch, story sessions and a morning in class).

Instead of these, we will be inviting you and your child to meet teachers and visit the Foundation Stage learning environments, ask any questions and find out more information about September.

These sessions will be held in very small groups on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July, after school has closed to all other pupils.

Thank you to everyone to has already returned completed Parent Mail consent forms, please look out for messages about the arrangements coming to you via Parent Mail over the next week.

Thank you

Good Morning!

We are really pleased you have chosen Covingham Park Primary School for your son or daughter! Hopefully by now you have received our welcome letter. Next week we will be sending out our induction packs. Please look out for these coming through the post.

We will update this page regularly to let you know about induction arrangements during the summer term.

In the meantime, please use these photos of key staff and areas within the school to begin to familiarise yourself and your child with starting school.

We look forward to speaking to and meeting you as soon as we can!
