How to apply for the Pupil Premium Grant

Are you eligible?

Free school meals are available for your child(ren) if you are receiving one of the following qualifying benefits:

Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400.

income Support

Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

The guarantee element of Pension Credit

Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

Please note: if you are in receipt of working tax credits you may not be eligible for free school meals or clothing grants.

 

From September 2014, all children in Reception and Year 1 and Year 2 qualify for free school meals (Universal Infant Free School Meals) regardless of their family income, but only the children who have qualified under the above income-based criteria will receive the Pupil Premium Grant.
