Mental Heath and Wellbeing

At Covingham Park, we believe that children’s mental health is just as important as their physical health and academic achievement. A child who feels safe, supported, and valued is better able to learn, build positive relationships, and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Good mental health helps children to:

  • manage emotions and cope with challenges,
  • develop resilience and self-esteem,
  • build healthy friendships and communication skills,
  • stay motivated and engaged in learning,
  • and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Children can sometimes experience worries, anxiety, low mood, or difficulties that affect their wellbeing. Early support and open communication are essential in helping children understand their feelings and know that they are not alone.

As a school community, we are committed to creating a caring and inclusive environment where every child feels heard, respected, and supported. We encourage kindness, emotional awareness, and positive wellbeing through our curriculum, pastoral care, and daily interactions.

By working together with families, staff, and pupils, we can help children develop the emotional strength and confidence they need to flourish now and in the future.

If you have any concerns about your child, please contact your child's teacher in the first instance.Â
