Covingham Park is proud to have had a girls' only football team since the start of the girls' league in Swindon 26 years ago! The school representative squad is made up of Year 5 and 6 girls. Typically, we have a squad of 9 girls who play 7-a-side football in most tournaments. 

We have had many achievements in that time including reaching the finals of the Swindon Schools' Girls' Cup an impressive 4 times... twice of which we have won!

The 2025-2026 season has been a fantastic year for girls' football at Covingham with the team being crowned Swindon Champions and Wiltshire Champions in the local and county levels of the nationwide Pokémon cup! We also won the Swindon School's Girls Cup for the second time in 5 years! 

This season the girls were undefeated in the competition and even kept a clean sheet in all of their games - not conceding one goal. Between the 9 members of the squad, they scored an impressive 50 goals across 7 games!

We cannot wait to see what next season brings, so look out for try-outs with Mrs Gunning-Day in September.
