School Meals, Special Diets and Free School Meals
Our lunches are provided by caterers AiP Sodexho who provide a varied menu which offers daily meat, vegetarian, jacket potato (with a choice of toppings) and deli sandwich options. A variety of delicious puddings are also provided plus a selection of fresh fruit and yogurts. Having a school meal is a great way for a child to try new foods and to have some of their favourites. Parents need to book lunches using ParentMail online system. Login details will be provided once your child has enrolled. Lunches must be ordered by 7 days in advance.Â
Allergies, Intolerances, Religious Dietary Requirements
If your child has a food allergy, food intolerance, medical dietary requirement, or needs to avoid certain foods for religious or cultural reasons, please ensure that you complete Form A – Information About My Child’s Special Diet and return it to the school office.
This information will be shared with our catering team so that appropriate arrangements can be made to meet your child’s dietary requirements safely.
Please notify the school immediately if your child’s dietary requirements change.
Free School Meals
From September 2026, the government has expanded Free School Meal (FSM) eligibility. Children from households receiving Universal Credit are now eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of household income.
If your family receives Universal Credit, please apply for Free School Meals, even if you have previously been told that your child was not eligible.
Applying is important because some children who qualify for FSM may also attract additional funding for their school, which helps us to provide additional support and opportunities for our pupils.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are already entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM), regardless of household income or benefits. However, if your family receives Universal Credit or another qualifying benefit, we still encourage you to register for FSM as your child may be eligible for additional school support and funding.
Who can apply?
From September 2026, children may qualify for benefits-based Free School Meals if their household receives:
- Universal Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Certain benefits under the government's arrangements for families with no recourse to public funds
If you receive Universal Credit, there is no longer an income limit for Free School Meal eligibility from September 2026.
There are two categories of FSM under the new arrangements:
- Targeted FSM – children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual household earnings of £7,400 or less. This group can attract additional funding, including Pupil Premium.
- Expanded FSM – children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual household earnings above £7,400. These children are entitled to free school meals, but this category does not attract Pupil Premium funding.
How do I apply?
If you think your child may be eligible, please contact the school office or complete on THIS online form. The School Office will submit your application to Surrey County Council who will run the eligibility check and confirm the outcome to the school.Â
Cool MilkÂ
Fresh milk cartons are delivered to school and available daily for all Foundation Stage children until their 5th birthday. Once a child reaches 5, parents and carers are able to continue to purchase milk for their child using this scheme.
